Compassion Joys: February

I can't believe that we've just finished up another month of 2016! We have so much to be thankful for this month!

Letters!

In February, we received quite a few letters from our kids!! We heard from Amelia, Amisha, Anahi, Bijay, Bonifas, Brenda, Carlos, Edmundo, Eduardo, Jeannette, Jayid, Kajal, Kevin, Maribel, Mary, Rachelle, Mishel, Mjay, Pitchaya, Ruth, Said, Sithum, Tasya, Thanakan, Yekersew, and Zalifina! Edmundo's letter was a first letter, and we also had some breakthroughs with the other kids: Ruth's first "real" letter arrived, and Amisha wrote her own letter for the very first time! All in all, it was a very exciting month for our mailbox!

Photo Updates!

Two photo updates came through this month, but we are due for about a dozen more- I hope they show up in March! Our sweet Rubby in Ghana got a photo update this month. I love seeing her pretty smile in her new photo! And Jessika in Ecuador also had a photo update. As she is expected to graduate next year, this is probably the last photo we will have of her. My mom has her previous photos, so I will have to try to get them from her and make a collage for her!

Birthdays!

February was not a particularly busy birthday month for us- we just had six! Mary P in Ecuador turned 15; Patricia in Brazil turned 14; Rubby in Ghana turned 16; Christine in Kenya turned 15; Elifagason in Tanzania turned 11; and Zalifina in Tanzania turned 15! I hope they all had wonderful birthdays!

Sponsor-versaries!

In February, we celebrated one year of writing to Laura, Yekersew, Benji, and Tamirat!

New Faces!

We received three new correspondents this month!! Welcome Doris and Teresia in Tanzania, and little Geison in Colombia! Geison even attends the same center as our Michel! How neat!
